About Our Church

In 1951, Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church was organized from the vision of Rev Daniel Roberts associate minister of true Vine Baptist Church.  The church motto was “The Church Going forward.” Philippians 3:14.  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ.

The original church building was located at 2448 Vine, Kansas City MO in November of 1954 a new building was purchased at 2510 Indiana.  Rev Daniel Roberts labored as pastor until his departure in September 1958.

He was followed by Rev. J. F. Robinson until August 1961 at which time Rev. Clinton Scott was called to pastor.  From 1966 until 1975 Rev R.L. Jones labored as pastor.

On February 26, 1976 Rev. R.L. Holt former pastor of the Second Baptist Church in Odessa MO was called to pastor.

In August 1977, through the vision and leadership Pastor R. L. Holt the current building at 3806 Prospect was purchased.

In 1991 a new addition was added to the church building.  The new addition added on was a 3300 square feet fellowship hall with kitchen and restrooms.  In 2012 an additional parking lot was added to the south side of the building.

On June 1st 2014, Rev. R. L. Holt transitioned to Chief Financial Officer and Rev. Robin Morgan was installed as Church Pastor.  We have since acquired the adjoining properties with intentions of building a community center.  We have since created a 501c3 nonprofit to increase our ability to make profound and lasting changes in the community we serve.  Our current pastor sits on several local and notation nonprofit boards and we are working to truly make a difference in the lives we touch.

We thank God for the accomplishments that each pastor has made for the up building of The Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church.  For we know that without God none of these things could have been accomplished
